Ride Details

Packet Pick-up:  Come Pick up your Rider number and Merchandise on Friday, June 14th time 3pm - 6pm at Kit Carson Park, 3333 Bear Valley Pkwy, Escondido, CA 92025 

Every rider will need to sign two waivers to pick up their packet. Friends and family may pick up your bib provided the have signed copies of each of the below waivers and a copy of your government issued ID.  Print your waivers below.

The Start:  All rides on Saturday start from Kit Carson Park, 3333 Bear Valley Pkwy, Escondido, CA 92025 and will go off at 7:15 AM with a mass rolling CHP Escorted start. For start times see the schedule

Directions and Parking: Kit Carson Park:  Take I-15 to Via Rancho Pkwy East.  It becomes Bear Valley Pkwy.  Kit Carson Park is on the left, enter in on Casteneda Dr. Parking is available in any of the lots within Kit Carson Park. Overflow parking is available at the mall just prior to the park off Beethoven Dr. Please adhere to all parking signs and regulations.

Timing:  Road route - Chip timed course with KOM/QOM, raffle prizes for all age categories for specified climbs on the Gran Fondo course.

Breakfast:  No one rides hungry! Join us for Breakfast at the Expo, 6:30 - 8:30am. We will be serving coffee, orange juice, muffins, and bagels.

Rest Stops:  Fully stocked and staffed rest stops at strategic locations along all courses.

Post Ride Feast:  Italian Lunch BBQ after the ride. Beer, wine, and other beverages are available.

Participation:  Open to all riders 15 years of age and up. Each rider must be in sound health for the event chosen. Riders under 18 must have the consent of a parent or guardian.

Age Categories:  Male and female U23 / 23-34 / 35-44 / 45-54 / 55-64 / 65+ / Professional.

Pro-Ride Invitational:  Open to all licensed professionals and former professional riders free of charge. Please contact the event organizers for Pro-Ride entry.

Maximum Time:  11 hours / All courses close at 6:00 pm.

Timed Climbs:  The south grade of Palomar Mountain will serve as the KOM/QOM for the Gran Fondo riders.

Awards:  Road Routes - Raffle prizes will be given to the fastest on the KOM/QOM climb of Mt Palomar for each age category. Prizes will be mailed post event.

Helmets:  Required at this event and must be worn at all times while on the bike. They also need to be in good working order and meet current ANSI helmet codes.

Required Equipment:  All cyclists are required to carry tools for changing tires, extra inner tubes or sew-ups, and a tire pump.

Aero Bars:  Having aero bars on your bike is fine, but it is important that they are used safely. Do not use aero bars when riding in a pack or drafting another rider. Because the road will be crowded at the start of the ride, the use the aero bars within the first 5 miles of the ride is not allowed.

Mechanical Assistance and SAG:  Four mechanics will be stationed along the course to assist with any mechanical issues. Two or more SAG vehicles will be roving the course to take riders back to the Bike and Fitness Expo.

Routes Changes:  Routes are subject to change due to unforeseen issues with weather, road construction or permits.

Cancellation Policy:  No refunds or transfers are available
